Surat Edaran Number IMI-0740.GR.01.01 of 2022 concerning the Granting of Visas and Limited Stay Permits for Second Homes
Indonesia continues to pursue its goal of attracting foreign investors into the country. On October 25, 2022, the Directorate General of Immigration, Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia officially issued a new policy, namely a second home visa. This policy is stated in Surat Edaran Number IMI-0740.GR.01.01 of 2022 concerning the Granting of Visas and Limited Stay Permits for Second Homes which aims to attract foreign tourists to come to Bali and various other destinations. He further explained that the Second Home Visa is not a substitute for Lansia Visa (retirement Visa)
Second Home Visa which specifically provides facilities for middle to upper class foreigners, be it premium class foreign tourists, global talent or world elite businessmen to be able to stay for a long time in Indonesia Second. This Home Visa is not a substitute for an Lansia Visa. Both have different legal political backgrounds and stand alone. This immigration policy is one of the non-fiscal incentives that can be a stimulus for certain foreigners to stay and contribute positively to the economy
Holders of Expired Lansia Visas can apply for other types of visas or other residence permits, including a Second Home Visa if they meet the material requirements, have funds of IDR 2 billion in bank account or own property in Indonesia such as house or villa. This Second Home visa is valid between 5 years – up to 10 years.
The formal requirements for obtaining a second home visa are as follows:
a. Nationality Passport that is valid and still valid for at least 36 (thirty six) months;
b. Proof of Fund in the form of an account owned by a foreigner or Guarantor with a value of at least IDR 2,000,000,000.00 (two billion rupiah) or equivalent;
c. A recent colour photograph measuring 4 cm x 6 cm (four centimetres by six centimetres) with a white background; and
d. Curriculum Vitae.
The Non-Tax State Revenue Rate (PNBP) for a second home visa is Rp. 3,000,000 according to the provisions in Minister of Finance Regulation (PMK) Number 2 of 2022. Payment of the PNBP rate for a second home visa can be made outside the territory of Indonesia through a PNBP payment portal that are available
